The Lifesaving Society's Bronze Medallion Award teaches an understanding of lifesaving principles. Candidates are taught tows and carries, and rescues involving conscious and unconscious victims. Stroke efficiency and a 500m endurance timed swim are test items. It is the pre-requisite for Bronze Cross. Emergency First Aid is taught during this course and includes victim assessment and CPR-B. Pre-requisite: Participants must have good stroke mechanics and swimming fitness before taking this course.
